Road Riders for Jesus

Biker Blessing

A Blessing is simply :
God's favor and protection. A prayer asking for such favor and protection.

Organized group blessing

  • Advertise biker blessing, not bike blessing.
  • Be in prayer that God will prepare hearts for the event. This is for the biker, as well as for yourself to be in tune with what God is telling you.
  • If you are doing this at a dealership, show up with an attitude of being sincere. And show a real commitment to the event.
  • Have enough blessing stickers on hand for the event, with the correct year on them.
  • Include the passenger in the blessing.
  • Only use 2 – 3 to bless a biker, make it a personal thing.
  • Give everyone a chance in your 2 – 3 person group, to participate in the blessing of a biker.
  • Ask permission to place your hand on the person’s shoulder and their bike.
  • NEVER put a blessing sticker on a bike. Give it to the person.
  • If possible have available a written plan of salvation to give the biker along with their sticker.
  • Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you about what to say to each individual, and pray that God opens windows of opportunity for you to share Jesus with them.

Individual Blessing.

At gas stations, rest areas, or anyplace where you may come in contact with other bikers, here are some tips to conduct an individual biker blessing.

  • Always keep biker Blessing stickers in your bike. Make sure they are for the current year.
  • State who you are, and tell them that you are a member of the Road Riders for Jesus. This gives them a sense that you are sincere about Jesus, and blessing them with their bike.
  • Include the passenger in the blessing.
  • Ask if you could pray a blessing on them and their bike.

Instructor  tips

  • Be prepared to conduct a biker blessing today.
  • Before the class starts you could number each biker/bike that is present, and then have each person draw a number to decide who will bless each biker/bike.
  •  Put 2 – 3 people together to practice as a team.
  • Allow everyone a chance to participate, and practice what they will do at a real Blessing event. This could be as simple as role playing. Making yourself comfortable with doing a Blessing is a key part to you being willing to perform one on your own.
  • Have copies available for the class of a simple …. Sample ….. Prayer for the blessing.

Father, I pray today with (their name) who said that they desire your blessing. I ask that you bless (him/her) this riding season and beyond. Let him be safe and not have any mechanical failures this year as they travel. Open their eyes that they will see and open their ear that they may hear. Let them see your majesty in all that you have created as they ride. I don’t know how well they know you right now, but I pray that he/she comes to know you even better by the end of this riding season. In Jesus’ name, amen.
